Mrs. Zedna H. Dawson

Mrs. Zedna H. Dawson, died on Sunday, May 21, 2017 in Tualatin, Oregon. Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. from the M. C. Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Sandersville, Georgia with Mr. Leroy Williams officiating. Interment was in Rest Haven Memorial Garden, Sandersville, Georgia.

Mrs. Dawson was born to the late Mr. Gordon Hayles, Sr. and Mrs. Vera Clyde Hayles on August 5, 1950 in Washington County, Davisboro, Georgia. Zedna started her life journey in Atlanta, Georgia before settling in Tualatin, Oregon.

She was a longtime resident of Atlanta, Georgia where she lived since leaving her childhood home in Davisboro, Georgia to attend school. Zedna met her husband Nelson in 1968 and married on April 17, 1970. This union was blessed with two children, Angie and Michael. She loved to cook and entertain at her home with family and friends. Her greatest joy however was her only granddaughter Jaeda Nicole. People often commented on how Zedna could start a conversation with a complete stranger and by the end, she would end up with a good friend. Zedna was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, she opened her heart and home to many over the years.

Mrs. Dawson is survived by her husband, Mr. Nelson Dawson, Tualatn, Oregon; daughter, Ms. Angela Dawson, Alpharetta, Georgia; son, Mr. Michael Dawson; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Sara Dawson; granddaughter, Miss Jaeda Dawson, Tigard, Oregon; beloved dog, Tyson; several other relatives and friends.
