Mr. Stanley Simmons

Mr. Stanley Simmons departed this life on Sunday, June 4, 2017. Funeral services were held on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at New Birth Christian Ministries with Sr. Pastor Patrick Wilson officiating. Interment was held in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Simmons was born on March 30, 1966 to the parentage of the late Mr. George Simmons and Mrs. Retha Simmons.

He was a 1984 graduate of Washington County High School and a 1997 graduate of Sandersville Technical College.

Stan met the love of his life, Ms. Sherry Johnson, in May 1986. They were united in holy matrimony on December 30, 1992. Stan was known for growing enormous elephant ears and wearing overalls. He was quiet, but had a big presence. He was an unselfish and loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. He devoted his time as a fatherly mentor to Keon and Lloyd, whom they respectfully called “Da.” Stan loved to interact with his nieces and nephews and sit on the porch with his mother. Stan was the owner and operator of Simmons Trucking (his CB Handle was “Big Papa”) and Simmons Hand Crafted Leather Belts. He also loved working with his dogs.
