Ms. Josephine Smith passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.

Josephine was born on September 7, 1960 in Dover, Delaware to the parentage of the late Mr. John M. Smith, Sr. and Mrs. Betty Chain.

She was preceded in death by her father Mr. John M. Smith , Sr., son: Mr. Joseph J. Smith Sr., two sisters: Ms. Mary Smith, Ms. Viola M. Smith and a nephew “Duda.”

Ms. Smith is survived by her son: Mr. Darrell Eugene (Lisa Tran) Smith, Pennsylvania; parents: Mr. Willie and Mrs. Betty Chain, Jr., Georgia; seven sisters: Ms. Debbie Smith, Ms. Theresa G. Smith-Brown, Georgia, Ms. Johnett M. Smith, Mrs. Deloris (Robin) Scott, Ms. Stefani Berryhill-Chain, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Charlene (Luis) Ramos, North Carolina, Ms. Jacqueline Hollis, Mississippi; six brothers: Mr. Melvin D. Smith, Mr. John M. Smith, Jr. , Mr. Kevin S. Chain, Pennsylvania, Mr. Willie D. Chain III, Mr. Robert Brazzell, Mr. Jamal Brazzell Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren; several other relatives and friends. M.C. Smith Funeral Home is in charge.
