Ms. Linda Rushin
Ms. Linda Rushin, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Tennille Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Jordan officiating. Interment was held in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
She was born May 13, 1957 in Sandersville, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Isadore Jordan and the late Mrs. Willie Mae Jordan.
She joined Tennille Grove Baptist Church at an early age. As a young lady, she was joined in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Larry Stephens. This union was blessed with two children. Several years later, after her first marriage ended, she married Mr. Arthur Rushin. This union was blessed with three children.
Ms. Rushin attended the public schools of Washington County. Her scholarly efforts would grant her a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Georgia Military College. She would continue to study towards the completion of a Masters Degree at Ashford University.
Her lifelong achievements include her self-authored novel The Billie Jean Story and her uplifting gospel album titled, Believe. Amongst these successes, she was also awarded the prestigious Who’s Who Award for the Distinguished.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was inspired by the music of Motown artists and kept the spirits up with her gracious voice. She was an example of Christian love and faith.
Ms. Rushin is survived by five children: Mr. Taurus (Autumn) Stephens, Bonaire, Georgia, Ms. Keila Stephens, Athens, Georgia, Mrs. Carlethia (Keenan) Rushin-Freeland, Lithonia, Georgia, Ms. Shemica Rushin, Hampton, Virginia, Mr. Ibrihim Rushin, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. One sister: Mrs. Constance (Ronnie) Coleman, Wynn, New Jersey. Two brothers: Mr. Don (Carol) Jordan, Orange, New Jersey, Mr. Dan (Jean) Jordan, Lake St. Louis, Missouri. Eight grandchildren. Several other relatives and friends. M.C. Smith Funeral Home in charge.
