Mr. Darryl Warthen

Mr. Darryl Warthen, Warthen, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Washington County Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Christopher Watkins officiating. Interment was held in the church cemetery.

Mr. Warthen was born November 13, 1962 to the parentage of the late Mr. J.W. Warthen and Mrs. Louise Wiley Warthen.

Darryl, affectionately known as D-Man, attended and graduated from the public schools of Washington County. He was a quiet and soft spoken man that would help anyone. He was employed by Sammie Andrews Construction Company. Darryl enjoyed fishing, cooking and doing auto mechanic work.

He was preceded in death by his father: Mr. J.W. Warthen; sister: Mrs. Juanita Warthen Cheely; two brothers: Mr. Eugene Warthen, Sr., Mr. James Warthen; nephew: Mr. Michael Warthen; and niece: Ms. Felicia Warthen.

Mr. Warthen is survived by his mother: Mrs. Louise Warthen, Warthen, Georgia; two sons: Mr. Antonio Warthen, Mr. Andreko Warthen, Warthen, Georgia; two sisters: Mrs. Mary Ann (Herman) Engram, Mitchell, Georgia, Ms. Geraldine Warthen, Warthen, Georgia; two aunts: Ms. Cora L. Braddy, Sandersville, Georgia, Ms. Maggie Wiley, Warthen, Georgia; one uncle: Mr. J.W. Wiley, Warthen, Georgia. Several other relatives and friends. M.C. Smith Funeral Home in charge.
