Mrs. Louise Warthen

Mrs. Louise Warthen, Warthen, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at her residence. Funeral services were held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. from Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Christopher Watkins officiating. Interment was held in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Warthen was born April 30, 1922 in Warthen, Washington County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Jimmy Wiley and the late Mrs. Cora Allen Wiley.

She attended and graduated from the public schools of Washington County.

She was the mother of Mount Olive Baptist Church, Warthen. Georgia until her health failed.

She was quiet and soft spoken which everyone loved her dearly. She was a caregiver for several families in the Warthen community. Her hobbies were cooking, quilting, gardening, fishing and making everyone laugh. She was the community’s home away from home.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Ms. Christine Wiley, and Mrs. Lizzie Francis Minor; three brothers: Mr. Wyman Wiley, Mr. Melton Wiley and Mr. Roy Wiley; one daughter, Ms. Juanita Warthen; three sons: Mr. Gean Warthen, Sr., Mr. James Warthen, Mr. Darryl Warthen; one grandson, Mr. Michael Warthen; one granddaughter, Ms. Felicia Warthen.

Ms. Warthen is survived by two daughters: Ms. Geraldine Warthen, Warthen, Georgia, Mrs. Mary Ann (Herman) Engram, Warrenton, Georgia; two sisters: Ms. Maggie Wiley, Warthen, Georgia, Ms. Cora Braddy, Sandersville, Georgia; one brother: Mr. J.W. Wiley, Warthen, Georgia; several other relatives and friends. M.C. Smith Funeral Home in charge.
