Mr. Willie James McBride, Sr.

Mr. James McBride passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at his residence. Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Union Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Benjamin Martin officiating. Interment was held in the church cemetery.

He was born November 01, 1930 to the parentage of the late Mr. Hardwick McBride and the late Ms. Lilla Jackson.

He joined Union Hill Baptist Church at a young age where he served as an usher and a trustee. He worked at Engelhard Kaolin Mine for thirty seven years. After retiring, he enjoyed farming, hunting, repairing things and just being outdoors.

Mr. McBride is survived by his wife: Mrs. Mae Frances McBride, Tennille, Georgia; eight daughters: Ms. Dianne Davis, Milledgeville, Georgia, Mrs. Sherron (Gregory) Lawson, College Park, Georgia, Mrs. Pamela (Herbert) Taylor, Louisville, Kentucky, Ms. Carolyn Jones, Riverdale, Georgia, Ms. Louise Whitaker, Ms. Anna Cordy, Tennille, Georgia, Ms. Debra Cordy, Sandersville, Georgia, Ms. Dorothy Hagan Merridth, Atlanta, Georgia; one son: Mr. Willie James (Ray Jean) McBride, Jr., Tennille, Georgia; one sister: Ms. Mary Helen Peeler, Sandersville, Georgia; one sister-in-law: Ms. Lillie Maude Snell, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; nineteen grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
