Mr. Cornelius Swint, Sr.

Mr. Cornelius Swint, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at a local nursing home. Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Union Hill Baptist Church. Interment was held in the church cemetery.

He was born on June 24, 1943 to the parentage of the late Mr. Timothy Swint and the late Mrs. Rosebud Rogers Swint in Mitchell, Glascock County, Georgia.

Mr. Swint attended the public schools of Glascock County. Later Cornelius and his family moved to Washington County, and there he met his wife, the late Mrs. Willie Mae Dixon Swint. This union was blessed with five lovely children.

Mr. Swint was employed by Tuttle Barksdale for over thirty years until his health failed in 2005. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and most of all farming.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ms. Sharon Swint.

Mr. Swint is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Cathy Swint (Ricardo) Perez, Tennille, Georgia, Ms. Ducresse Swint (Herman), Sandersville, Georgia; three sons: Mr. Kennedy (Barbara Ann) Swint, Mr. Cornelius Swint, Jr., Tennille, Georgia, Mr. Cornelius Earl (Shelia) Swint, Warthen, Georgia; step daughter: Ms. Mamie Poole, Tennille, Georgia; two sisters: Mrs. Marie Burden, Ms. Lula Mae Swint, Tennille, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
