Mrs. Willie Ruth Flemmings Jackson

Mrs. Willie Ruth Flemmings Jackson passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at a local nursing home. Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. from Holly Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Ronald Brawner officiating. Interment was held in the church cemetery.

She was born December 30, 1939 to the parentage of the late Mr. Robert Flemmings, Sr. and the late Mrs. Rosa Lee Allen Flemmings.

Mrs. Jackson was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and was faithful to Holly Spring Baptist Church as well. She served on the kitchen committee for many years at Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Andrew Jackson, Sr. on September 2, 1961.

Mrs. Jackson was employed for many years as a seamstress at several manufacturing companies. Her most memorable was William Carter’s Company. After leaving the factory she performed house keeping duties for Mr. and Mrs. Pat Wolfe, Warthen, GA.

She was preceded in death by a daughter: Ms. Mary Alice Jackson; and three brothers; Mr. Robert Flemmings, Jr., Mr. Jimmy Flemmings and Mr. Melvin Flemmings

Mrs. Jackson is survived by her husband: Mr. Andrew Jackson, Sr.; three daughters: Ms. Rose Jackson, Ms. Angela Jackson, Warthen, Georgia, Mrs. Laura (Randy) Tucker, Sandersville, Georgia; one son: Mr. Andrew (Marlena) Jackson, Jr., Sandersville, Georgia; two sisters: Mrs. Virgin Mary Kitchens, Ms. Maggie Daniel, Sandersville, Georgia; one brother: Mr. Harvey Fleming, Warthen, Georgia; eight grandchildren: Kendreika Jackson, Shantavia Mahomes, VonShay Cato, Serenity Jackson, SPC Damien (Ashleigh) Tucker, Jowan Tucker, Shania Jackson, Darrell Harris; three great grandchildren; nine sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; a host of other relatives and friends.
