Mrs. Hattie Ruth Peacock-Scott

Mrs. Hattie Ruth Peacock-Scott passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at St. James Christian Fellowship Church, Tennille, Georgia with Pastor Mack Jackson officiating. Interment was held at Green Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.

She was born on April 1, 1943 to the parentage of the late Mr. Willie Johnson, Sr. and the late Mrs. Precious Graham Bell.

She joined Green Grove Baptist Church at an early age and was a faithful member until her passing. She sang in the choir for over fifty years and served on the kitchen committee for many years.

Hattie was preceded in death by two brothers: Mr. Richard Lee Peacock and Mr. Willie Rufus Peacock.

Mrs. Scott leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted children: Mrs. Helen Scott (Danny) Kilpatrick, Mr. Willie Farris Scott, Jr., Mr. Mackle Scott, Mr. Stacey (Kizzy) Scott, Tennille, Georgia, Mrs. Sandra (Darrell) Harris, Stafford, Virginia; three sisters: Mrs. Eula Bullock, Mrs. Nanette (Elliot) Harris, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ms. Loretta (Gladys) Johnson, Wilmington, Delaware; one brother: Mr. Willie Johnson, Jr., Waldorf, Maryland; stepsister: Mrs. Ann Minor, Sandersville, Georgia; devoted sister-in-law: Mrs. Betty Brown Peacock; sixteen grandchildren: Mrs. Cyndrika (Dedrick) Brown, Mr. Justin (Ashley) Johnson, Mr. Jamarion Scott, Mr. Jakel Johnson, Ms. April Scott, Ms. Palmecia Rowling, Ms. Keziah Scott, Mr. Stanquez Yorker, Ms. Crystal Battle, Ms. Shaundraya Battle, Tennille, Georgia, Mr. Antwan Hines, Ms. Ambrea Harris, Ms. Deyonna Harris, Stafford, Virginia, Mrs. Tanika (Ammiel) McBride, Midland, Texas, Ms. Lastacia Johnson, Augusta, Georgia, Ms. Brittany Spikes, Atlanta, Georgia; twenty great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; six devoted nieces: Ms. Gretta Peacock, Ms. Kimberly Peacock, Ms. Louise Washington, Tennille, Georgia, Ms. Precious (Kathy) Peacock, Ms. Ashley Peacock, Ms. Julia Faye Broom, Sandersville, Georgia; two devoted nephews: Mr. Vincent (Sheila) Duggan, Tennille, Georgia, Mr. Tony Peacock, Lithonia, Georgia; extended family: Mr. Irwin Evans, Greensboro, Georgia, Mrs. Leigh (Frank) Newman, Lagrange, Georgia; two honorary granddaughters: Mrs. Ashley (Jamie) Hamilton, Mrs. Beverly (Ben) Curtis, Atlanta, Georgia; a host of other relatives and friends.
