Mrs. Veris Landers

Mrs. Veris Landers, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 in Wrightsville, Georgia. Funeral services were held on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Harrison Spring Baptist Church, Harrison, Georgia. Interment was held in Landers Cemetery.

She was born on November 28, 1928 to the parentage of the late Mr. Beauford Hagens and the late Mrs. Julia Mae Outlaw Hagens.

She was raised in Washington County, Georgia and attended Beach Grove Church School.

Mrs. Landers grew up on Thomas Jones place along with her five brothers and one sister. Five of her siblings preceded her in death: Mr. Willie Lewis Battle, Mr. Herman Hagens, Mr. Theotis Hagens, Mr. Thomas L. Hagens, and sister, Mrs. Eloise Russell.

On June 18, 1949 she married her childhood friend,

Mr. M. H. Landers. They were married for 70 years. To this union they were blessed with five children.

She was a dedicated homemaker.

Mrs. Landers was the Head Mother of Grace Church of Jesus also known as Landers Grove Church in Harrison, Georgia.

Mrs. Landers leaves cherished memories to her beloved husband: Mr. M. H. Landers; five children: Mr. Lindsey (Joanne) Landers, Mr. Charles (Mary) Landers, Mr. Thomas Landers, Mr. Larry (Shirley) Landers, Mrs. Patricia (Beverly) Dunn; one brother: Mr. Tommy (Pauline) Hagans; twenty three grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
