Mrs. Betty Butts


Mrs. Betty Jean Butts, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at Serenity Place Hospice, Dublin, Georgia. Graveside services were held on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Woodlawn City Cemetery with Elder Patrick Wilson Sr. officiating.

She was born on August 13, 1969 to the parentage of Mr. Grady and Mrs. Louise James.

Mrs. Butts served her community as a Registered Nurse at Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, Georgia. She loved helping people and spreading the love of Christ when and wherever she could.

In her spare time she loved spending time with the love of her life, her grandson, “Little Tre.” She also loved to travel and take vacations with her family. Her greatest asset was her beautiful smile and her ability to draw people with her humorous personality and her compassionate heart.

She was a devoted member of New Birth Christian Ministries where she served as a minister of the gospel, praise team member, Outreach Leader and Couples’ Ministry Facilitator.

Mrs. Butts leaves to cherish her memories, her husband: Mr. Larry Butts, Sr., Sandersville, Georgia; daughter: Ms. Kirsten Butts, Sandersville, Georgia; son: Mr. Larry Butts, Jr., Sandersville, Georgia; mother: Ms. Louise James, Sandersville, Georgia; father: Mr. Grady James, Sparta, Georgia; four sisters: Ms. Sophia Jordan, Mrs. Sonya (Rev. Joe) Shinhoster, Dublin, Georgia, Ms. Angela James, Warner Robins, Georgia, Mrs. Katina (Chris) Edwards, McDonough, Georgia; two brothers: Mr. Kelvin Jordan, Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Michael James, Douglasville, Georgia; one grandchild: Master Larry Butts, III; devoted sister-in-love: Ms. Stephana Biggins, Jacksonville, Florida; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
