Mr. Alvin Thompkins

Mr. Alvin Thompkins, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at his residence. Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at T.J. Elder Community Center Auditorium, 316 Hall Street, Sandersville, GA with Minister Clifford Merrell, officiating.

Mr. Thompkins was born on January 12, 1950 in Washington County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Albert and Mrs. Lillian Thompkins.

He was a 1968 graduate of T.J. Elder Comprehensive High School in Sandersville, Georgia.

At an early age he joined Samuel Grove Baptist Church.

Alvin served in the United States Army and is a      Vietnam War Veteran.

He was preceded in death by two sisters: Mrs. Marvin Thompkins Smith, Mrs. Dena Lucille  Thompkins Stinson; brother: Mr. Robert Thompkins and a brother-in-law: Mr. Clifford Stinson.

Mr. Thompkins leaves cherished memories to his wife: Mrs. Lizzie Minor-Thompkins, Sandersville, Georgia; six children: Mr. Harold (Anna) Thompkins, Macon, Georgia, Mr. Jermaine Thompkins,  Milledgeville, Georgia, Mr. Alvin (Tiana) Thompkins, II, Cleveland, Tennessee, Dr. Didi Thompkins, Hampton, Georgia, Ms. Takara Thompkins, Ms. Crystal Thompkins, Atlanta, Georgia; one sister: Ms. Alvie Louise Thompkins, Atlanta, Georgia; caregiver: Ms. Sakethia Boyer;  seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, nine sisters-in-law, four    brothers-in-law; a host of other relatives and friends.
