Mr. Bennie Frank Swint
Mr. Bennie Frank Swint, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024 in Jacksonville, Florida. Funeral services were held on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Galilee Baptist Church with Rev. Henry L. Tanner officiating. Interment was held at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Bennie Frank Swint, born November 18, 1963, made his transition from this earthly realm to enter the ever loving arms of his maker on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Bennie will fondly be remembered for his sense of humor and countless laughs as well as his animated stories. Most importantly, he will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
Bennie attended the public schools of Washington County and was a graduate of the class of 1981. After completing high school, Bennie attended Fort Valley State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.
After graduation, he became a teacher for the Johnson County School System in Wrightsville, Georgia where he worked several years as an elementary teacher. Bennie was exceptional in his profession and was honored as teacher of the year. He then transitioned to working at Carver Elementary School in Wadley, Georgia. Bennie was also sought to volunteer his services with voter registration due to his exceptional mathematical skills. Bennie was loved by his co-workers as well as his students and never met a stranger because he always made an effort to meet people where they were and find good in every person he met. He had a caring heart and spirit to help people that were in need leaving a positive impact on those he encountered.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Ms. Ethelreaine Swint and Mr. Freddie L. Johnson, Sr. and siblings: Mr. Ray Swint, Ms. Ella Mae Palmer, Ms. Ethel Doris Coppet, Ms. Elaine Swint, Mr. Herbert Swint, Jr., Mr. Freddie Johnson, Jr. and Ms. Pauline Johnson.
Mr. Swint is lovingly remembered by his devoted sister: Mrs. Lillie P. Spikes, Sandersville, Georgia; devoted nephew that was like a brother: Mr. Irvin Swint, Louisville, Georgia; devoted niece: Dr. Telisa Spikes, Smyrna, Georgia; siblings: Ms. Barbara Ann Jackson, Ms. Gloria Jean Roberson, Ms. Mary Lawson, Ms. Patricia Ann Johnson, Ms. Cynthia Ann Johnson, Mr. Ronnie Johnson, Mr. Ronald Johnson all of Sandersville, Georgia; aunt: Ms. Mattie Mae Johnson, Sandersville, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews who will continue to carry and hold close loving memories of Uncle Ben-Ben as he was affectionately nicknamed by some. M. C. Smith Funeral Home in charge.
I am so sad and sorry that another one of my classmates has passed away, time surely has flown, I miss those sweet friends and times 😢
My condolences to the Swint and Spikes Family. Loved being neighbors and sitting on Aunt Nora and my God mom’s Caroline English porch after school. Bennie, you will be missed.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of my classmate Bennie. What I remember most about Bennie was his smile and him being a jokester. I'm sending lots and lots of prayers, an abundance of love, tight hugs and kisses for comfort and strength today and for the many, many dark days ahead. Family, continue to look to the hills for which ALL your help comes, ALL your help comes from the Lord who made the heaven and the earth. SIP Bennie, SIP!
