Mr. Bennie Lawson

Mr. Bennie Lawson passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Union Hill Baptist Church, Tennille, Georgia, Pastor Benjamin Martin, Eulogist. Interment was held in Georgia War Veterans cemetery, Milledgeville, Georgia.

He was born on July 6, 1947, to bless the parentage of the late Mr. Herman Lawson, Sr. and the late Ms. Lillie Ruth Wiley.

Bennie was well known by many. He stood tall and carried himself with confidence. He enjoyed football, traveling, reading, long talks, old movies and spending time with family and friends.

After graduating from T.J. Elder High School in 1966, he briefly moved to Atlanta. In 1967, he was drafted into the armed Forces. He served in the United States Army for two years, serving our country in the Vietnam War.

He was blessed with two children: Ms. Elizabeth Lawson whom preceded him in death and Mr. Gary Williams.

Mr. Lawson leaves cherished memories to his son: Mr. Gary (Connie) Williams, Sandersville, Georgia; siblings: Mr. Herman Lawson, Jr., Mrs. Sharon (Willie) Jordan, Mrs. Kathy (Chester) Roberson, Sandersville, Georgia, Mrs. Linda (Warren) Gray, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Mrs. Pamela Middleton, Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Emory (Patricia) Dawson, Plainfield, New Jersey, Mrs. Loretta (Aubrey) Jones, Macon, Georgia, Mrs. Pauline (Alfred) Ford, Conyers, Georgia, Mrs. Roberta (James) Sears, Covington, Georgia, Mrs. Lillian (Eddie) Pulliam, Stonecrest, Georgia, Ms. Brenda Deniece Scott, Decatur, Georgia; devoted friend: Mr. Charlie Jackson; a host of other relatives and friends.
