Mr. Braddricus Hood

Mr. Braddricus Hood passed away in Macon, Georgia on December 22, 2024. Funeral services were held on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Springfield Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Grissom officiating. Interment was held at Limestone Community Cemetery.

He was born on November 27, 1991 to the parentage of Mr. Kelvin “Chic” Hood and Ms. Carla Maria Canty.

Brad was full of life; characterized by a loving, funny and ambitious personality. His favorite advice to dispense was the profound simple mantra, “Live life to the fullest.”

Braddricus was a passionate sports fan, always cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs. Football and basketball were his games of choice, either as a spectator or engaging in friendly competition with his family and friends. Outside of sports, he enjoyed spending quality time with his loved ones and traveling to explore new places. A high point in his life was when he accepted Allah and the teachings of Islam, an accomplishment he held amid his greatest achievements.

His love for a Dodge Charger was no secret, especially if it was a Scat Pack. He once humorously noted, “If it’s not scatting, it ain’t going!” His legacy lives on as a reminder of the importance of family and enjoying life.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather: Mr. Roy Braddy.

Mr. Hood leaves behind a loving family that includes his father: Mr. Kelvin “Chic” Hood; mother: Ms. Carla Maria Canty; sister: Ms. Tiffany Schimerr Archer; brothers: Mr. Hershel Simmons, Mr. Darieon Daniels; grandmothers: Mrs. Nellie Marie Hood, Mrs. Mattie (Willie) Taylor; grandfathers: Mr. Charlie Jackson, Mr. Jackie (Shirley) Taylor, Sr.; aunts: Mrs. Katrina (Leadaleand) Hogue, Ms. Kendra Ross, Ms. Breona Jackson, Ms. Veronica Womble, Ms. Deshedra Richardson, Ms. Ashley Jackson, Ms. Teyonna Gilbert; uncles: Mr. Roger (Alicia) Taylor, Mr. Jackie (Jorquikka) Taylor, Jr., Mr. Marcus Cannida, Mr. Sheldon Andrews, Mr. Tyrone Braddy, Mr. Stacy Cuyler, Mr. Yaqui Womble, Mr. Carlitos Jackson, Mr. Andre Harris; nieces: Ms. Her’Layza Simmons, Ms. Taliya Simmons; nephew: Mr. Javen Wilson; that will dearly miss him.
