Mr. Eddie Lee Lovett "Bozo"
Mr. Eddie Lee Lovett, Sr., affectionately known as "Bozo" departed this life on Monday, October 23, 2023 at Smith Medical Nursing Care Center. Memorial services were held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Green Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Ted Stephens officiating.
He was born on August 12, 1935 in Sandersville, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Robert Lee Lovett and the late Ms. Willie Bell Brown.
Mr. Lovett was educated in the public schools of Washington County.
At an early age he joined Green Grove Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board.
He joined the Washington County SCLC/Black Youth Coalition in 1965 and was an active member until his health failed.
Mr. Lovett was a truck driver and traveled all over the world. He drove for Sheffield Milk Company and Ray Outlaw Trucking for over thirty (30) years. For over twenty five (25) years he drove for Howard Sheppard. His CB name was “Mighty Hawk.”
He was preceded in death by three sons: Mr. Richard Sanford, Mr. Eddie Lee Lovett, Jr. and Mr. Gregory Cummings.
Mr. Lovett leaves to cherish his memories, five daughters: Ms. Joanne Moorman, Mrs. Patricia Lovett-Moses, Mrs. Annie J. (Carlos) Lovett-Hall, Ms. Carrie Dell Lovett, Ms. Ethel Pearl Lovett; two sons: Mr. Joey Asberry, Mr. Willie Brown; one sister: Mrs. Virginia Lovett–Cummings; three brothers: Mr. Twillie Lee Lovett, Mr. Tommie Lee Lovett, Mr. Eddie Louis Lovett; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
