Mr. Edward Wadley

Mr. Edward Wadley, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at his residence. Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Henderson Grove AME Church with Rev. Cornelius Gibbons officiating. Interment was held in Rest Haven memorial Gardens.

Mr. Wadley was born on January 26, 1948 in Sandersville, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Toncie Lee Irwin and the late Mrs. Gladys Wadley-Jones.

He attended the public schools of Washington County. He was married to the late Mrs. Bessie James Wadley.

Mr. Wadley was a jack of all trades who enjoyed fishing, playing the lottery, working in the garden and was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons and the Georgia Bulldogs. He retired from Burgess Pigment Company after forty seven (47) years of employment.

He was preceded in death by a daughter: Ms. Camisha Wadley; two sisters: Ms. Faye Doyle, Ms. Kathy Irwin-Robinson; two brothers: Mr.  Wyman Irwin and Mr. Everette Wadley, Sr.

Mr. Wadley leaves to cherish his memories, one son: Mr. Daryl Wadley of Sandersville, Georgia; six grandchildren: Ms. Ciera Wadley, Ms. Krystal Wadley of Dublin, Georgia, Ms. Deshea Wadley, Ms. Alexis Wadley, Mr. Dondre Wadley of Sandersville, Georgia, Ms. Nicole Decastro of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister: Ms. Marietta Collier of Savannah, Georgia; two brothers: Mr. Vernon Irwin, Mr. George Irwin of Michigan; devoted friends: Mr. Dave White, Mr. Arthur James, Jr., Ms. Ethel Yorker, Ms. Louise Yorker; thirteen (13) great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Wadley is survived by one son: Mr. Daryl Wadley; one sister: Ms. Marietta Collier; two brothers: Mr. Vernon Irwin, Mr. George Irwin; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. M. C. Smith Funeral Home in charge.
