Deacon M. H. Landers

Deacon M. H. Landers passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Greenwood Place Assisted Living in Wrightsville, Georgia. Graveside services were held on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Landers Cemetery with Rev. Terrace Pullen officiating.

He was born on March 2, 1929 to the parentage of the late Mr. Louis Landers and the late Mrs. Lintsey Hurst Landers.

Deacon Landers grew up on Thomas Jones Place in Tennille, Georgia and attended Beach Grove Church School.

He was the founder of Landers Grove Church in Harrison, Georgia.

On June 18, 1949, he married his childhood sweetheart, the late Mrs. Veris Hagans Landers. They were married for seventy (70) years. This union was blessed with five children.

He was preceded in death by five siblings: Mrs. Mary (Willie) Bynes, Mrs. Doretha (Sam) Alexander, Mrs. Christine (Willie, Sr.) Dorsey, Mr. L.J. (Marie) Landers and Mr. Charles Louis (Polly) Landers.

Deacon Landers leaves cherished memories to his beloved children: Mr. Lindsey (Joanne) Landers, Mr. Charles (Mary) Landers, Mr. Thomas Landers, Mr. Larry (Shirley) Landers, Harrison, Georgia, Mrs. Patricia (Beverly) Dunn, Hephzibah, Georgia; brother-in-law: Mr. Tommy (Pauline) Hagans, Sandersville, Georgia; devoted friend: Mr. Guy New; twenty three (23) grandchildren; twenty six (26) great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
