Mr. Ronald Cooper, Sr.
Mr. Ronald Cooper, Sr., affectionately known as "Po Boy", passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023 at his residence. Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at St. James Christian Fellowship with Rev. Henry L. Tanner officiating. Interment was held in Mt. Zion Church Cemetery.
Mr. Ronald Cooper, Sr., affectionately known as “Po Boy,” departed this life on Friday, August 18, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on June 25, 1953 to the parentage of the late Mr. Lonnie Cooper, Sr. and the late Mrs. Ida Kate Cooper.
Mr. Cooper attended the Public Schools of Washington County. He was employed as a school security guard for a while and was self-employed as a construction worker and brick mason.
He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.
Ronnie was a pillar of the “Crosstown Community” where he assisted others daily with acts of service. He was an amazing husband, father, grandpa and friend who loved his family dearly. He enjoyed fishing, grilling and avidly practiced MMA. His favorite thing was Fourth of July cookouts for family and friends.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Ms. Regina Cooper, Ms. Joyce Walker and two brothers: Mr. Lonnie Cooper, Jr. and Mr. Larry Cooper.
Mr. Cooper leaves cherished memories to his wife: Mrs. Lillian “Niecy” Cooper, Sandersville, Georgia; children: Mrs. Necole (Peter) Walker, Jacksonville, Florida, Ms. Veronica “Nudy” Cooper, Ms. Keyonce’ Cooper, Mr. Ronald (Felisa) Cooper, Mr. Keon Cooper, Mr. Sam (Leslie) Gladdin, Sandersville, Georgia; brothers: Mr. Greg Cooper, Sr., Mr. Danny Cooper, Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Bobby Cooper, Flowery Branch, Georgia; mother-in-law: Ms. Mamie Reeves; sisters-in-law: Ms. Alicia Brown, Ms. Betty Griner, Ms. Pearl Reeves; brother-in-law: Mr. Frank James; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; loving and devoted niece: Ms. Pamela Cooper; devoted friends: Mr. Michael (Pamela) Jackson, Mr. Tony Latimer, Ms. Pat; and a host of nieces, nephews, god children, other relatives and friends.
