Mr. Willie B. Cummings

Mr. Willie B. Cummings, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital, Augusta, Georgia. Funeral services were held on Friday, March 26, 2021 at New Birth Christian Ministries at 4:00 PM with Senior Pastor Patrick Wilson, Sr., officiating.

He was born on March 10, 1949 to the parentage of the late Mr. Charlie Cummings and the late Mrs. Gennie Warthen Cummings.

At an early age, he joined Holly Springs Baptist Church in Warthen, Georgia. He graduated from T.J. Elder High School with the class of 1969. After graduation, he attended Macon Technical School, studying printing. He moved from Macon to Atlanta and worked for Foote and Davies Printing Company as a Master Printer until retirement.

He enjoyed painting portraits, photography, ink drawings, restoring vehicles, collecting and selling vintage items.

In 2019, he returned to Washington County making Tennille, Georgia his primary residence. At that time, he began attending New Birth Christian Ministries.

He was married to Mrs. Shirley Guy Cummings who preceded him in death.

Mr. Cummings leaves to cherish his memories, his children: Mrs. Eartha (Cornelius) Cummings-Hicks, Mrs. Jennifer (Dartez) Smith, Tennille, Georgia, Dr. Stacy (Hugh) Artis, Wrens, Georgia, Mr. Eric Wilson, Sandersville, Georgia; grandchildren: Mr. Cardenal Coleman, Jr., Mr. Exavyer Coleman, Mr. Stetson Smith, Mr. Quincey Smith, Ms. Yazmeen Wilson; great grandson: Master Kayson Smith; two sisters: Ms. Lugene Sanford, Sandersville, Georgia, Mrs. Patricia (Hubbie) Flournoy, Stockbridge, Georgia; sister-in-law: Mrs. Eugenia V. Cummings; brother-in-law: Mr. Gregory Wilcox, Tennille, Georgia; devoted friend: Ms. Marie Harris; a host of other relatives and friends. M. C. Smith Funeral Home in charge.
