Mr. Willie Lee Haynes, Jr, affectionately known as “Buddy,” by close family and friends, departed this life on Saturday morning, June 4, 2022 at the Miller County Hospital, Colquitt, Georgia after an extended battle of recovery.

Mr. Haynes was born the first of four children to the parentage of the late Mr. Willie Lee Haynes, Sr. and the late Mrs. Vivian Grace Stanley-Haynes.

At an early age he joined Rice Hill Baptist Church and was an active member until he joined the Male Voices of Buckeye in 1994. On most first Sunday mornings, you could catch the Male Voices singing with Willie as he led them on many songs until 2006.

Willie first married Ms. Tammy Waters in 1980. To this union three children were born, Bradford, Byron and Brandi. Later in 2002, he married Ms. Patrice Warthen, now Haynes, with whom he shares his last child, Bryson.

Long before his graduation year of 1974 at Dublin High School, Willie was always dedicated to providing for his family. At the age of thirteen, he stared working to take care of his mother and younger siblings.

The family driven work ethic that was instilled in Willie continued all the way into his adult life, making him become the best husband, father and grandfather that anyone would be blessed to have.

To many unknown, Willie coached organized sports from1986 until 2009, being involved not only in his children but many kids sports lives and encouraging them to be the best they could be.

Willie was the definition of a “workaholic”. At the age of thirteen, he was gifted a brick trowel and wheelbarrow. Next, he began working as a salesman at Men’s Imperial in the Dublin Mall. Later, he worked with Buckeye Masonry before starting his own business, Haynes Masonry, LLC, where he joined with other contractors such as Clark and Bassett, to build many homes and establishments that you see throughout Laurens and surrounding counties.

He was a man of God and devoted to his family. He could always be spotted at work or supporting his kids at any event. Although Willie was a man of few words, he would talk about God forever. He also liked singing, watching westerns, sports and martial arts in his spare time.

Mr. Haynes leaves to cherish his precious memories, a loving and devoted wife: Mrs. Patrice Haynes, Dublin, Georgia; four loving children: Mr. Bradford (Kyrsten) Haynes, Macon, Georgia, Mr. Byron Haynes, Macon, Georgia, Mrs. Brandi (Desmond) Lofland, Centerville, Georgia, Mr. Bryson Haynes, Dublin, Georgia; five beloved grandchildren: Little Miss Addison Haynes, Master Carter Haynes, Little Miss Lauren Grace Haynes, Macon, Georgia, Little Miss Halo Lofland, Little Miss Hayln Lofland, Centerville, Georgia; three younger siblings: Ms. Vivian Steward, Mr. Luther Haynes, Dublin, Georgia, Mr. Carl (Sheryl) Haynes, West Point Georgia; two aunts: Mrs. Dollie Carswell, Washington DC, Mrs. Gertie Jones, Miami, Florida; one aunt-in-law: Ms. Brenda Warthen, Sandersville, Georgia; one uncle-in-law: Mr. Lenward Warthen, Sandersville, Georgia; one niece: Ms. Vivian Steward, Dublin, Georgia; two nephews: Mr. Antonio Steward, Mr. Emmanuel Steward, Dublin, Georgia; a host of other relatives and friends.
