Mrs. Annie L. Walker

Mrs. Annie L. Walker, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023 in Macon, Georgia. Funeral services were held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 12:00 Noon at M.C. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eric T. Adams officiating. Interment was held in Samuel Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Annie, affectionately known as “Bay”, was born to the parentage of the late Mrs. Christine and Mr. Johnnie Darrisaw on November 10, 1951, in Toomsboro, Georgia. She was the sixth of eight children.

Bay attended Washington County School Systems.

She was married to the late Mr. Nash Walker, Jr. and they had one child whom preceded her in death.

At an early age, she joined and was baptized at Hodges Hill (New Hope Baptist Church).

She worked at Central State Hospital for a short time and later resided at Chaplinwood Nursing Home.

Bay loved spending time with her family and doted on her nieces and nephews. She had a comical sense of humor and loved to laugh and socialize.

She was preceded in death by a sister: Ms. Mamie Lou Ebron and a brother: Mr. Johnnie Askew.

Mrs. Walker leaves to cherish her memories, four sisters: Ms. Sallie L. Bouyer, New Jersey, Mrs. Josephine (Johnnie) May, Oconee, Georgia, Mrs. Ola Mae (Bennie) Ingram, Milledgeville, Georgia, Ms. Lorraine Darrisaw, Tennille, Georgia; one brother: Mr. George (Inez) Askew, Sr., Sandersville, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
