Mrs. Bobbie Jean Chatman
Mrs. Bobbie Jean Chatman, affectionately known as “Sook,” departed this life on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Advanced Health and Rehab in Jeffersonville, Georgia.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at Second Mineral Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Interment was held in the church cemetery.
She was born on June 17, 1954 to the parentage of the late Mr. Louis Jones and the late Mrs. Myrtice Neal Jones in Glascock County.
Mrs. Chatman was a member of Second Mineral Springs Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Usher’s, Golden Girls and Missionary Ministries.
She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Nathan Chatman, Sr. on December 26, 1987.
Sook was a 1973 graduate of Washington County High School.
During her lifetime, she worked at Duckhead, Spring City Knitting Company and Sparta Healthcare.
She was preceded in death by her son: Mr. Mario Chatman; two brothers: Mr. Bobby Jones, Mr. Ben Jones and several aunts and uncles.
Mrs. Jones leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted and caring daughter, Ms. Shenique Jones, Warthen, Georgia; two brothers: Mr. Tommie Jones, Warthen, Georgia, Mr. Edward Jones, Sparta, Georgia; granddaughter: Miss Skylar Chatman, Barnesville, Georgia; brother-in-law: Mr. Marvin Chatman, Sparta, Georgia; devoted nephews: Mr. Roderick (Yolanda) Jones, Tennille, Georgia, Mr. Antquan (Alexis) Jones, Milledgeville, Georgia, Mr. Darrell Harris, Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Cordell Gladdin, Warthen, Georgia; devoted friend: Ms. Mary Hall, Wrightsville, Georgia; a host of other relatives and friends.
