Mrs. Dorothy L. Hall



Mrs. Dorothy L. Hall, affectionately known as "Dot," Sandersville, Georgia passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Washington County Regional Medical Center, Sandersville, Georgia. Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Galilee Holy Fellowship Church. Interment was held in Woodlawn Cemetery.


Mrs. Hall was born on November 5, 1959 to the parentage of the late Mr. Willie Cecil Lyman and the late Ms. Margaree Allen.


Dot was educated at the T.J. Elder School in Washington County, Georgia and later received her GED from James Madison High School.


She was a loving caregiver to an innumerable number of children. Dot worked at Heritage Inn as a housekeeper until her health declined.


Mrs. Hall could make you smile, laugh and frown at the same time. She was a prayer warrior and a true scholar of the Word of God. Dot was an avid  cook and could easily feed a whole army. Let us not forget her famous fried biscuits. Serving others was her passion as well as teaching and sharing the word of God.


Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Mr. Harvey Hall, Sr.; siblings: Ms. Pauline Daniels, Mr. Johnny Thomas, Arneal Thomas, Mr. Willie Thomas, Ms. Janet Lyman; brother-in-law: Mr. Charles Tucker and bestfriend/sister: Ms. Effie Williams.


Mrs. Hall leaves to cherish her memories, her siblings: Mrs. Willene Tucker, Mrs. Mary Ann Brown, Mr. J.W. (Sylvia) Lyman, Ms. Janice Lyman, Mr. Earnest (Delora) Lyman,  devoted friend: Mr. Elder “Tee” Jones; stepchildren: Ms. Maybelline Stevenson, Ms. Gladys Whicker, Mr. Harvey Hall, Jr., Mr. Willie Hall, Mr. Jack Harris, Mr. Charles Hall; goddaughter: Ms. Faith Williams and her two sons: Jermon and Joshua; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. M. C. Smith Funeral Home in charge.
