Mrs. Inez Askew
Mrs. Inez Askew, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Washington County Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held on Saturday July 13, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at New Birth Christian Ministries with Senior Pastor Patrick Wilson, Sr. officiating. Interment was held in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
The time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

Mrs. Askew was born on August 15, 1938, to the parentage of the late Mr. Willie Mack Coleman, Sr. and the late Mrs. Lurene Coleman Castleberry.
At a young age she accepted Christ and was baptized at Highland Park Baptist Church under Rev. William Dixon.
She later joined Springfield Baptist Church and served as a deaconess until her health failed.
Inez attended T.J. Elder School. She worked for many years at R.J. Studdard & Son Manufacturing. She also worked private duty for Ms. Hattie Aiken and Mr. Richard and Mrs. Mary Irwin.
A lifelong native of Sandersville, Inez was known for her flowers and vegetable gardens. She loved to cook and was a very good cook. Inez was known for cooking collards, sweet potato pies and corn bread dressing, just to name a few items. She loved for the family to get together in the yard to eat dinner, laugh and talk. Inez help raise her younger siblings. She was a loving big sister.
Mrs. Askew was joined in holy matrimony to Mr. George Ellis Askew on December 25, 1975. They were married for forty eight (48) years.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: Mr. Willie Mack Coleman, Jr., Mr. Daniel Coleman, Mr. Napoleon Castleberry, Jr., Mr. Willie Fred Castleberry and Mrs. Laverne Davis.
Mrs. Askew leaves to cherish her memories, her husband: Mr. George Ellis Askew of Sandersville, Georgia; son: Mr. George (Sumiko) Askew of Tennille, Georgia; daughter: Ms. Diane Taylor Cullens of Tennille, Georgia; grandchildren: Ms. Tyanna Askew of Dublin, Georgia, Ms. Latavia Askew of Tennille, Georgia, Ms. Kimbria Thomas of Marietta, Georgia, Master Gabriel Askew, Mr. N’Kosi Johnson of Tennille, Georgia; sisters: Mrs. Willie Mae Wright of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Mrs. Geneva Leath, Mrs. Jewel Davis of Miami, Florida, Mrs. Maudie Ree Haynes of Sandersville, Georgia, Mrs. Dorothy (Shawn) Stafford of Macon, Georgia; two brothers: Mr. Ronnie Castleberry of Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Ledell (Charlene) Castleberry of Conyers, Georgia; sisters-in-law: Mrs. Josephine (Johnny) May, Ms. Loranne Darrisaw of Oconee, Georgia, Mrs. Ola Mae (Benny) Ingram of Milledgeville, Georgia, Ms. Sallie Bouyer of Elizabeth, New Jersey, Mrs. Ann Castleberry, Mrs. Joyce Castleberry of Sandersville, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
