Mrs. Janie M. Graddy
Mrs. Janie M. Graddy, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Washington County Regional Medical Center. Graveside services were held on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Harrison Cemetery with Rev. Calvin Hatcher officiating.
Mrs. was born in Washington County, on November 15, 1926 to the parentage of the late Mr. George Scott and the late Mrs. Bertha Scott.
She attended the public school system in Washington and Johnson Counties.
In 1946, she met and married the late Mr. Jessie Graddy and were married for seventy one (71) years. In 1951, Mrs. Graddy and her husband moved to New Jersey and in 1955 after their daughter was born, they moved back to Georgia.
Mrs. Graddy was a housekeeper for Mr. George, Jr. and Mr. Jimmy Lord for many years. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, picking fresh vegetables taking care of her family. She would always keep a watch on her neighborhood.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Mr. Elmer Johnson, Mr. Robert Lee Adams and one grandson: Mr. Donald Armstrong.
Mrs. Graddy leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter: Ms. Dorothy Horn, Harrison, GA; one son: Mr. Henry (Glenda) Graddy, Harrison, GA; one sister-in-law: Ms. Geraldine Johnson, Harrison, GA; four grandchildren: Ms. Shirry Horn, Mr. Curtis Graddy, Mr. Lamont Graddy, Harrison, GA, Mrs. Lavern (Kelvin) Stubbs, Macon, GA; six great grandchildren: Ms. Jaysa Horn, Ms. Courtney Horn, Ms. Avah Stubbs, Ms. Maci Stubbs, Mr. Dontae Wright, Ms. Shadonald Armstrong; grand god sons: Mr. Isaac Bivens, Mr. Travis Bivens; devoted friend: Mrs. Jeanette Caneege; a host of other relatives and friends. M.C. Smith Funeral Home in charge.
