Mrs. Latoyia Harris-McGee
Mrs. Latoyia Harris-McGee passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 21. 2025 at 12:00 noon at New Baptist Church, Rev. Ron Jackson, Eulogist. Interment was held in the church cemetery.
She was born on January 10, 1980 to her devoted mother Ms. Lorene Harris and father Mr. Willie Lee Duckworth, Jr.
Toyia’s journey began in Sandersville, Georgia where she spent her early years before moving to Macon, Georgia at the age of twelve. There she blossomed, graduating from Westside High Scholl in the class of 1999. With a spirit of service, she proudly served her country in the National Guard and dedicated her career to healthcare, leaving a lasting impact on the lives she touched.
Latoyia, lovingly known as “Toyia,” was a kind-hearted and supportive daughter, wife, sister and friend. Her warmth and generosity touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. Latoyia was a shining light of love and strength for all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered for her unwavering love and the joy she brought to those around her.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Mr. Darryl McGee; grandparents: Mr. David Harris, Mrs. Vallie Harris, Mr. Willie Lee Duckworth, Sr., Mrs. James Edna Duckworth; aunt: Mrs. Christine Harris-Heggs and cousin: Mrs. Sharon Archer-Cooper.
Latoyia was a beacon of love and strength in the lives of all who knew her. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her children: Ms. LaChantis Hollingshed, Ms. Tyyonna Hollingshed, Ms. Deandra McGee, Mr. Devin McGee; granddaughters: Miss Naomi Hollingshed, Miss Ivey Pennimon; mother: Ms. Lorene Harris; father: Mr. Willie Lee (Faye) Duckworth, Jr.; siblings: Mr. Roderick (Telesha) Harris, Mr. Raheen (Yolanda) Harris, Ms. Aciandra Harris, Ms. Tuana White, Mr. Kelvin Jordan, Jr., Ms. Jacqueline Duckworth, Mr. Willie Duckworth, III, Ms. Shantrice Washington, Mr. Rashun Washington, Ms. Shantell Washington; bonus parent: Mr. Clifford McDowell; aunts and uncles: Ms. Gladys Miles, Ms. Marie Harris, Mr. Robert (Kandi) Harris, Mrs. Sarah Dean (Bennie) Johnson, Ms. Mary Washington, Mr. Bobby (Lena) Harris, Mr. Sammie Harris, Mrs. Bernice (Pete) Renfroe, Mrs. Connie (Johnny) Pinkston, Ms. Delores Warthen, Ms. Barbara Ann Wadley, Ms. Pamela Jackson, Ms. Betty Griner; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
