Mrs. Leoma Ross
Mrs. Leoma Ross, affectionately known as “Noot,” by her family and friends, departed this life on Thursday, December 8, 2022, after a brief illness, at her residence.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Piney Mount Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Grissom officiating. Interment was held in the church cemetery.
She was born on May 18, 1927 in Washington County, Georgia, to the parentage of the late Mr. Sam Swint and the late Mrs. Robbie M. Harris Reynolds. She was raised by her grandfather, the late Mr. Dawson Harris.
Mrs. Ross received her education through church schooling in Washington County. She was educated through the eight grade.
At an early age, she joined Piney Mount Baptist Church where she served on many auxiliaries.
Early in her adult years, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia. While in Atlanta, she met her husband, the late Mr. R.C. Ross. After marriage, she joined under Christian Experience, Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. She was a faithful member of the church, serving on the usher board. She was dedicated to serving our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
When her husband was called from labor to reward, she decided to move back home to be with her family and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty plus years: Mr. R.C. Ross; three brothers: Mr. John W. Swint, Mr. Q.P. Reynolds, Mr. Jessie Reynolds and one niece: Mrs. Jackie R. Thomas.
Mrs. Ross leaves cherished memories to one sister: Mrs. Sadie Lane, Sandersville, Georgia; one brother: Mr. Isiah Reynolds, Sandersville, Georgia; five nieces: Mrs. Diana (Melvin) Hooks, Sandersville, Georgia, Elder Belinda (Charlie) Poole, Milledgeville, Georgia, Ms. Kimberly Reynolds, Woodstock, Georgia, Ms. Tina Burke, Macon, Georgia, Mrs. Lisa (Gary) Bridges, Tennille, Georgia; six nephews: Mr. Stacey Reynolds, Detroit, Michigan, Mr. Kenneth (Louise) Reynolds, Atlanta, Georgia, Rev. Ron Jackson, Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. Ricky (Louise) Swint, Mr. Willie R. (Wanda) Swint, Mr. Sammie L. (Jackie) Swint, Tennille, Georgia, a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. M. C. Smith Funeral Home in charge.
