Ms. Lorine Spikes
Ms. Lorine Spikes, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020 at Memorial University Medical Center, Savannah, Georgia. Graveside services were held on Friday, November 6, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Union Hill Baptist Church, Tennille, Georgia with Rev. Benjamin Martin officiating.
Ms. Spikes was born on January 1, 1930 to the parentage of the late Mr. Armie “Jake” Lee Spikes and the late Mrs. Mabel Smith Spikes. Lorine, affectionately known as “Sister,” was the eldest of six siblings.
At an early age she joined Union Hill Baptist Church. She was a domestic lady that enjoyed cooking and overseeing the responsibilities of her household until her health began to decline. Other notable hobbies and pleasures that Ms. Lorine enjoyed were baking pies, watching tv ministry and listening to gospel music.
Lorine’s grin and laughter will forever be missed by those who knew and loved her. She had a very sentimental personality, and would cry after her siblings, relatives or friends would depart after visiting, despite being reassured that they would be back to see her.
She was preceded in death by four siblings: Ms. Dorothy Fowler, Mr. John H. Spikes, Mr. Jimmie L. Spikes and Mr. Earnest Spikes.
Ms. Spikes leaves to cherish countless memories, one brother: Mr. Otis (Samilla) Spikes, Newark, NJ; one devoted sister-in-law: Mrs. Lillie P. Spikes, Sandersville, GA; four nephews: Mr. Kenneth (Deborah) Spikes, Mr. Eric (Sonya) Spikes, Sandersville, GA, Mr. Irvin Swint, Louisville, GA, Mr. Takeo Spikes, Atlanta, GA; five nieces: Ms. Tyeast Spikes, Ms. Tanzia Steele, Newark, NJ, Ms. Telisa Spikes, Smyrna, GA, Ms. Elaine Pittman, Atlanta, GA, Ms. Angela Spikes, Augusta, GA; a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
