Mrs. Maggielene Lawson
Mrs. Maggielene Daniels Lawson was a cherished member of Washington County whom passed away peacefully on Friday, November 29, 2024 at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Georgia at the age of seventy-nine (79).
Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at Union Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Benjamin Martin officiating.
She was born on January 14, 1945 in Granville County, North Carolina to the parentage of the late Mr. Charlie Carl Daniels and the late Mrs. Elizabeth Shields Daniels.
Mrs. Lawson’s formal education was obtained at G.C. Hawley High School in Creedmoor, North Carolina, graduating in the year 1963. She furthered her education by attending Winston-Salem State University earning a bachelors degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Art in 1967. Her passion for education was displayed for thirty-two (32) years of service at D.D. Crawford Primary School which was located in Tennille, Georgia.
Her acts of kindness, dedication and strong sense of community was felt by everyone she came in contact with. Her strong faith in the Lord led her to Union Hill Baptist Church where she served diligently until death.
She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty (30) years: Mr. Herman Lawson, Sr.; brother: Mr. Charlie B. Daniels; and twin sister: Mrs. Jerlene Cozart.
Mrs. Lawson leaves to cherish her memories; two brothers: Mr. Willie Eugene Daniels, Landover, Maryland, Mr. John E. Daniels, Butner, North Carolina; brother-in-law: Mr. James A. Cozart, Sr., Sacramento, California; sisters-in-law: Mrs. Ann Daniels, Landover, Maryland, Ms. Louise Ingram, Orlando Florida, Ms. Deloris Hook, Mableton, Georgia, Ms. Mildred Jordan, Warner Robins, Georgia; nephews: Mr. Charles Daniels, Mr. Timothy Daniels, Mr. Jermaine Daniels, Mr. James Cozart, Jr.; nephew-in-law: Mr. Josh Cotten; nieces: Ms. Karen Daniels, Mrs. Nicole Cotten; loving goddaughter: Mrs. Toni Hilson; beloved family member: Mr. Safarrah Lawson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
