Mrs. Rachel Smith Howell

Funeral services for Mrs. Rachel Smith Howell, of East Dublin, Georgia, were held on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at 2:30 PM at the Greater Macedonia Missionary North Baptist Church, 1824 Claxton Dairy Road, Dublin. Reverend Frank Smith will officiate. Interment followed in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery in Dublin.

Rachel was born on Saturday, December 4, 1971, to her parents, Benita Poole Wright and the late Henry Smith, Jr.

She attended public schools in Laurens and Washington Counties. She spent her life in public service in the restaurant business. Mrs. Howell passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Josephina Smith.

Rachel is survived by her husband, Moreo Howell, her sons, Raphaell (Jameisha) Smith of Dublin, Jeremy Middlebrooks, Italy, her daughter, Sha’Tyr-one’ Kelsey (Amber) of Milledgeville, one sister, Kimberly Hester (Brian Rozier) of Dublin, two brothers, Shannon (Shawana) Adkins of Dublin, and Christopher (Gabrielle) Jeanette of Sandersville, four stepsisters, four stepbrothers, grandfather, Bennie (Grace) Poole of Roosevelt, New York, a devoted aunt, Sarah Dixon of Sandersville, a host of friends including Sehbrenah Kuhn, Skeetha Bloodsaw, Sekeya Cuyler, Jamaica Stephens, seven grandchildren, Logan, Morgan, Raphael, Noelle, and Noah, Averie, and Kennedy, mother-in-law, Shelia Howell, brother-in-law, Rodrecus Jackson, sister-in-law, Laquata Ford, all of Wilkinson County, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. If you knew Rachel, you couldn’t help but love her, she was such a sweet spirit.
