Ms. Annie Mae Andrews
Ms. Annie Mae Andrews, affectionately known as "Sweet," of the Sandersville Community, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024. Funeral services were held on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Andrews officiating. Interment was held in the church cemetery.
Born on June 6, 1950, to the parentage of the late Mrs. Annie Mae Andrews and the late Mr. Farris Lee Andrews, Sr., she was the third of fourteen children.
Ms. Andrews was a graduate of T.J. Elder School in the class of 1968. After graduating high school, she work in the fields and helped to raise her siblings.
She worked at The Washington Manufacturing Co., also known as The Cotton Mill and the Navy Mill until business declined.
“Sweet” was a fun loving person who enjoyed attending gatherings and did not mind dancing. She had her own dance call “The Sweet,” that she would always do no matter where she went. She was the life of the party. She enjoyed attending church with her daughter on Sundays.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Ms. Kathy Ann Andrews and three brothers: Mr. Farris Lee Andrews, Jr., Mr. Tony Andrews and Mr. Michael Andrews.
Ms. Andrews leaves to cherish her memories, a daughter: Ms. Connie Andrews (Walter); son: Mr. Larry (Patricia) Andrews; six sisters: Mrs. Fleeta (Tommie) Poole, Ms. Bertha Andrews, Mrs. Alice (Larry) Kitchens, Ms. Zeffie Andrews, Ms. Pauline Swint, Ms. Alma Andrews; four brothers: Mr. Forrest (Judy) Andrews, Mr. Gary Andrews, Mr. James Andrews, Mr. Jonathan Andrews; five grandchildren: Mr. Antonio Andrews, Ms. Quanica Carey, Mr. Quinton Dixon, Ms. Shameria Brooks, Ms. Shateria Brooks; two great grandchildren: Brooklyn Rozier, Yurie Dixon; one aunt: Mrs. Naomi Nelson; devoted friends. : Mrs. Doretha Lovett, Mr. Frank Archer, Sr., Mr. Donald Morris, Ron and the entire class of 1968; goddaughter: Ms. Teresa Jackson; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
