Ms. Christine Cullins

Ms. Christine Cullins, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 in Newark City, New Jersey. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 11:00 AM at M.C. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Calvin Hatcher officiating. Interment was held in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Ms. Christine Lavern Cullins, 88, of Newark, New Jersey; also known as “Chris,” returned back to her Creator on May 1, 2024.

She was born on September 13, 1935 to the parentage of the late Mr. Eussie and Mrs. Ella Mae Cullens in Sandersville, Georgia.

Ms. Cullins graduated Homecoming Queen from T.J. Elder High School, then moved to Tennessee to attend Business School before moving to Newark, New Jersey with her best friend.

She was the first in her family to move to New Jersey, creating a wonderful chain of events that included new family members, loved ones and close friends relocating to New Jersey also. That journey touched so many lives and lifted so many hearts.

She will be missed by her family, friends and everyone that became a part of her life and her love of God.

Ms. Cullins leaves behind those who will miss her forever, her four children: Mrs. Renda R. (William) DuBose, Mr. Brinton W. Huggins, Ms. Tracey K. Cullins, Ms. Aliya T. Cullins; a sister that she loved dearly: Mrs. Arnita (Charles) Haynes; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; five adopted daughters; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
