Ms. Fannie Shaw


Ms. Fannie Shaw, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Washington County Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM at New Birth Christian Ministries with Senior Pastor Patrick Wilson, Sr. officiating.


She was born on July 11, 1948 in Sumter County, South Carolina to the late Mrs. Mable Shaw Richardson.


At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior, and joined Goodwill United Presbyterian Church, where she partook in many services. She was an Eastern Star, sang in the gospel choir and was a member of the usher board.


Later, she moved to Georgia to pursue her nursing career and joined New Birth Christian Ministries, where she served on several committees including The Golden Girls and the Gospel Choir.


Ms. Shaw received her formal education from Walker Gamble Middle School in New Zion, South Carolina and Grambling University in Louisiana. She received her nursing degree from Swainsboro Technical College.


She pursued her caregiving duties for many years until she retired.


Ms. Shaw leaves cherished memories to her four children: Ms. Tierra Shaw, Sandersville, Georgia, Ms. Mya Shaw, Mr. Jonathan Shaw, Savannah, Georgia, Ms. Lashawna Burke, Temple Hills, Maryland; two sisters: Ms. Sally Anthony, Temple Hills, Maryland, Ms. Ida Mae Mclaine, Washington DC; two brothers: Mr. Robert Shaw, Gable, South Carolina, Mr. Laverne Latson, Sumter, South Carolina; two grandchildren: Ms. Tamera Burke, Tallahassee, Florida, Ms. LaTasha Burke, Sandiford, Florida; a host of other relatives and friends.
