Mrs. Iris H. Wiley

Mrs. Iris H. Wiley, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020 at Smith Medical Nursing Care Center. Graveside services were held on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Cecil Moore officiating.

Iris was born on August 2, 1943 to the parentage of the late Mr. Tommie Lee Gilbert, Sr. and the late Mrs. Doretha Gilbert.

She was known for many endearing qualities; but none exceeded the loving bond she shared with her devoted daughter. When speaking with Iris she would never complete a conversation without mentioning her “Baby.”

She was most proud for being a mother!

Iris loved her family as well as making others laugh. She also had a special love for her Oak Grove Baptist Church Family.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Mr. Levi Wiley; brother: Mr. Earl Gilbert and sister: Ms. Sandra Gilbert.

Mrs. Wiley leaves to cherish her precious memories, her daughter: Ms. Deborah DeShay Wiley, Sandersville, Georgia: five sisters: Ms. Agnes Brown, Ms. Gayle Neely, Ms. Cathy Gilbert, Ms. Peggy Gilbert, Augusta, Georgia, Ms. Gennie Mae Haynes, Sandersville, Georgia; two brothers: Mr. Tommie Gilbert, Jr., Germany, Mr. Ronnie Gilbert, Augusta, Georgia; six sisters-in-laws: Mrs. Brenda (Eddie, Jr.) Miller, Ms. Mary Golar, Sandersville, Georgia, Mrs. Dorothy McMichael, Grayson, Georgia, Mrs. Christine (Mack) Daniel, Mrs. Cynthia (Andre’) Wyatt, McDonough, Georgia, Ms. Dianne Walker, Covington, Georgia; two brothers-in-laws: Mr. Donald (Norma) Wiley, Sandersville, Georgia, Mr. James (Elaine) Wiley, Decatur, Georgia; devoted nieces: Dr. Monica Haynes, Fairburn, Georgia, Ms. Kimberly Haynes, Sandersville, Georgia; godson: Mr. Aubrey (Teresa) Moore, Deepstep, Georgia; a host of other relatives and friends.
